Texting is Not the Only Distraction

Many people believe that texting causes most of teen motor vehicles accidents. Peer passengers are a major cause of accidents for teen drivers. The passengers contribute to possible speeding, tailgating, and weaving. A study on this belief was done at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. 71 percent of males and 47 percent of females said they were distracted directly by the actions of their passengers. This study emphasized the imporant role parents play in supporting safe teen driving. Rules are good to have with teen drivers. Parents should set a limit to the number of passengers in their teens vehicle. Mortor vehicle crashes remain the number one cause of death among teens in the United States. With that being said chose your passengers wisely!
